About the Event
In this time of increased visibility of police violence against Black, Indigenous, POC, and Queer and Trans communities, many of us are engaged in protests, organizing, and community building for racial justice. This MWM Dialogue will offer a space for transracial and transnational adoptees to talk about:
- Conversations about race, protests, and activism with white adoptive family*
- Community building and community engagement as adopted BIPOC
- Recognizing and challenging “niceness”, and notions of “doing enough”
- What is the “role” of TRAs and TNAs in racial justice protests and organizing
*This dialogue will center the experiences of BIPOC adoptees with white adoptive families; all transracially and/or transnationally adopted people are welcome!
