About the Event
Join us to unpack the idea of boundaries as self-care. Together we will evaluate and re-define what works and what doesn’t to create the space, justice, and grounding we need in our current climate.
This space is dedicated to BIPOC folks who connect to the experiences we center (read our “about language at www.MidWestMixed.com). It is an intentionally open space where folks from different dialogue communities may interact across those spaces.

Mason Modiste: I am a community activist and modiste (that's fancy for sewist). I believe that healing our communities starts with authentic expression and storytelling. In activism you'll see me speaking on my experineces with food/housing insecurites, and buidling community with other trans/non-binary/queer, bipoc adults and youth. As a modiste I design, mend, alter, tailor clothes and costumes. When I’m not doing those things I like to hula hoop, dance, paint or read children's books. I may talk a lot about needing more queer love in media, or that horror movies give clowns a bad name. But I speak with passion, and people like that about me. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have honest, thought provoking, goal oriented dialogue that sustains my passions.
