About the Event
Right now, we're experiencing the uprisings demanding justice for George Floyd and movements in solidarity around the world. In moments like this, the tensions that we experience as mixed and/or transracially adopted (TRA) folks who get read as white feel can feel heightened. So, we'd like to take time to ground into and share the questions and emotions that are coming up for us as mixed/TRA & read as white folks. While we don't necessarily have answers to those, we know that getting together to talk about them with each other helps.
Because this moment is so full, not just for us but for our city, state, and our whole world, we decided to postpone the topic that was generously proposed by Jenn & Jules to July, and focus this month's discussion on Being Mixed/TRA & Read As White During Uprising.
